Privacy policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
This privacy policy applies to the website www.denitool.com. It explains which personal data we process when you visit the website or contact us, and which rights you have. It is governed by the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, we also state the legal bases under the GDPR. Our online shops have their own privacy policies: ch.denitool.com and store.denitool.com.
1. Controller
DENI AG, Industriestrasse 18, 5106 Veltheim AG, Switzerland, email info@deni.ch. Please send questions about data protection and requests concerning your rights to this address.
2. Visiting the website and server logs
Each time you visit, your browser transmits technically necessary information: IP address, date and time, the address requested, the page you came from, browser and operating system. We and our host store this information in server logs in order to deliver the website, find errors, fend off attacks and compile technical statistics, for example on visits by search engines. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure and stable operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The logs are deleted after about two months.
3. Hosting and delivery
The website is hosted by cyon AG in Basel, Switzerland. All requests pass through the network of Cloudflare, Inc. (San Francisco, USA). Cloudflare delivers the pages faster and protects them against attacks and abuse. In doing so, Cloudflare processes your IP address and the technical information listed in section 2, including on servers outside Switzerland and the EU. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US and the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework, and the European Commission's standard contractual clauses also apply. If traffic looks suspicious, Cloudflare may show a check and set the cookie "cf_clearance". The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and fast website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
4. Cookies and your consent
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Without your consent we only set cookies that are necessary for operation:
- "cc_cookie" (6 months): stores your cookie choice
- "PHPSESSID" (until you close the browser): technical session of the website
- "cf_clearance" (30 minutes): protection against automated access by Cloudflare, only after a check
We use anything else only after you agree in the cookie banner: statistics (section 5) and external media (section 6). You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of each page. A withdrawal applies to the future. The banner runs on our own server and does not pass your choice on to anyone.
So that we can prove a consent, we record each choice in a log: a random number that is also stored in your cookie, the time, the categories chosen, the version of the banner, the language and the page visited. We do not store your IP address in this log. The legal basis is our obligation to be able to demonstrate consent (Art. 7(1) in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR). We delete the entries after three years.
5. Statistics with Google Analytics
Only if you agree to the "Statistics" category do we use Google Analytics 4 by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Analytics records which pages you visit, how long you stay and where you come from, together with information on your device, browser and approximate location (country, region, city). Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. The data are pseudonymous, we cannot attribute them to you personally. Google Signals and advertising features are switched off, and there is no link to Google Ads. Google sets the cookies "_ga" and "_ga_LGRZ4PFS07" (2 years each). Google deletes event data after 2 months and user-level data 14 months after your last visit. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. Google is certified under the EU-US and the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). More information is available in Google's privacy policy.
6. External media
Some pages show datasheets and documents from Google Drive and Google Docs, videos from YouTube and a map from Google Maps. The provider in each case is Google Ireland Limited (address in section 5). This content only loads if you agree to the "External media" category or click "Load external content" in the placeholder (which means you agree to this category). Before that, your browser does not connect to Google. You can also open a piece of content on the provider's site via the direct link in the placeholder. When the content loads, Google receives your IP address and technical information, may set cookies and, if you are logged in to Google, may associate the visit with your account. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA (Data Privacy Framework, see section 5). The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
If a page-flip catalogue from the provider AnyFlip (Hong Kong) is embedded on a page, the same applies: it only loads after your consent. There is no adequacy decision for Hong Kong, so the transfer is based on your explicit consent (Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR). More information is available in AnyFlip's privacy policy.
7. Contact form and email
If you write to us via the contact form or by email, we process your information in order to answer your enquiry and, where applicable, to prepare a quotation. In the form, this is your name, email address, location, country, subject and message, plus your phone number if you choose to give it. Mandatory fields are marked, without them we cannot handle the enquiry. The form sends your information by email to our sales team, the website itself does not store it. Our emails pass through a spam and virus filter by Hornetsecurity GmbH (Hanover, Germany) and are kept in Microsoft 365 (Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, Dublin). The legal basis is the handling of your enquiry or the preparation of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in communicating with customers and prospects (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We keep enquiries for as long as necessary to handle them, and business correspondence for as long as statutory retention obligations require (in Switzerland up to ten years).
8. Links to social networks
At the bottom of the page we link to our profiles on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X and YouTube. These are plain links: the network's page only opens when you click, and its privacy policy then applies.
9. Recipients and transfers abroad
We do not sell personal data. We only pass them on to the service providers named, who process them on our behalf or under their own responsibility: cyon AG (Switzerland), Cloudflare, Inc. (USA), Hornetsecurity GmbH (Germany), Microsoft (Ireland) and, only with your consent, Google (Ireland and USA) and AnyFlip (Hong Kong). For transfers to the USA we rely on the Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, for Hong Kong on your explicit consent. Authorities only receive data where the law obliges us to provide them.
10. Your rights
You may request information about your data at any time, as well as its correction, deletion or release in a common format. You may object to processing and withdraw any consent given. Where the GDPR applies, you also have the right to restriction of processing and to data portability. To exercise these rights, write to us at info@deni.ch or by post to the address in section 1. We may ask for proof of your identity. You can also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), in the EU the authority of your place of residence or work.
11. Security
The website can only be accessed in encrypted form (HTTPS). We protect your data against loss and unauthorised access with technical and organisational measures. Nobody can guarantee completely secure transmission over the internet, for example with unencrypted emails.
12. Automated decisions
We do not make automated individual decisions within the meaning of Art. 21 FADP and Art. 22 GDPR.
13. Changes
We adapt this privacy policy when our website or the law changes. The version published here applies.
